     Why Do They Do That?

Dogs communicate with body movements and sounds to send signals to other dogs, animals and humans. Their communication comes in a variety of forms and is part of the foundation of dog social behavior. Communication  is demonstrated through movements of the ears, eyes, eyebrows, mouth, nose, head, tail, and body, as well as barks, growls, whines and whimpers, and howls.

In this workshop, communication signals and behaviors will be discussed in lecture and then identified  as we watch dog-dog interactions in the dog park. We will discuss the who, what, when's and why's of each interaction in an effort to understand 'why they do that!'
